Dr. Bass treated more than 40 children each day for four days.
The Olmoti Maasai were thrilled this summer to have the volunteer services of Dr. Jennifer Bass, a pediatrician from Kaiser Permanente in Portland. Dr. Bass visited the clinic before joining the Olmoti fundraising safari in June. Alerted to her presence, the Maasai women flocked to the clinic with their children in tow.
Dr. Bass treated more than 40 children each day for four days. Her expertise allowed for advance treatments and referrals. This powerful interaction with the community led to heartfelt appreciation on both sides of the stethescope and an indelible experience for all.
